One of the biggest problems with the modern day worker is clutter. They have a PDA for email and IMs, and cell phone because the PDA phone reception is horrible. On top of that, there are also the MP3 players and car keys. The modern solution is a power valet.

Power valets are gaining popularity and replacing the old and clunky jewelry boxes that blight a dresser/ vanity. Tech Tools has designed a compact power valet with a faux leather exterior that is a refreshing change from the lacquered wood.

The unit is 5-inches high and about 10-inches long and wide. It has 3 charging slots for electronic devices, an open deck for laying out handy items, and a drawer for storage. A plus is the felt lining the bottom of the Valet, so you won’t have to worry about scratching surfaces. The Power Valet also comes with a built-in four slot power strip that will help cut down on clutter.

A drawback to the Power Valet is that the faux leather will need to be oiled to get that genuine shine. It’s also a little heavier than it appears, but I wouldn’t label it overweight. Overall the Power Valet is good buy for someone looking for a bargain (retails for $30-$40). You get what you pay for.

It’s the 21st Century already, and some of us are still clamoring for our jet-packs. Many of the futuristic goodies promised to us during the Space Age have yet to materialize, but technology does have a way of eventually catching up.Take for instance the TR200 Electronic Tie Rack from Tech Tools — a useful device that’s long overdue. It’s a sane solution for storing your neckties without them getting crushed or creased out of shape.

This sleek, low-profile wonder attaches securely to your existing closet bar, so you need sacrifice only minimal closet space. With the press of a button, it automatically illuminates the full spectrum of your neckwear, so that you don’t have to flip on a light switch and wake your wife while coordinating an outfit for work. (Speaking of which, this gem of a gadget also purrs pretty quietly).

Up to 70 ties can be accommodated — more if you double them up on the hooks. And there’s still room to hang four belts. So if you are looking to embrace the luxury of push-button living that would make even the Jetsons envious, this baby’s for you!
