Sennheiser HD-555 Audiophile Headphones

Audiophile: a person who is enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound production.  Sennheiser has crafted a steal for the audiophile in you with the HD-555 Audiophile Headphones.  Just to warn you ahead of time, the HD-555 is geared towards a high-end tech user such as gamers and music/ film lovers.  An average user will notice the dyanamic difference in sound, but will not be able to get over the price, which is in fact a steal.

The nitty-gritty of the HD-555 is defined by two outstanding components: E.A.R technology and Duofol diaphragms.  E.A.R stands for Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement, and heightens the sound channels you hear.  When you hear people dropping the phrase “studio quality”, you’ll understand what they mean when you hear a song for the first time with the HD-555.  The E.A.R is paired with neodymium ferrous magnets that tune the base and treble together for amazing sound quality.

The Duofol diaphragms are paired with surround sound reflectors that not only blocks out exterior noise, but gives a movie theater quality to your home entertainment system and gaming experiences.  I definitely noticed a difference when I was playing an extremely popular MMORPG (that shall remain unnamed).  I purposefully zoomed in and out and turned my toon in various directions to test surround sound reflection.  I was thoroughly impressed with the echo and ambient sounds that would be drowned out in my old headset.  The velour covered ear pads definitely beats the standard foam.  There was no stickiness and heat that is a normally expected with long term use.

It’s safe to say that I’m a fan and a convert.  The HD-555 comes with a 3.5mm jack adapter for more versatility, which comes in handy if you want to use is with an mp3 player.  I highly recommend the HD-555 for avid film watchers and hard-core gamers, even if they play on a console system!
