The Vivitar 8.1 V8400 MegaPixel Underwater Digital Camera was purchased right before our vacation this year. For some reason I wasn’t really expecting much from an underwater camera but definitely got more than I expected. The options and features include High ISO, Quick Review, Edit/Review Mode, Advanced Sports Mode, Sequential Shooting and come in handy when shooting things that don’t want to sit still. Weighting just under 5 ounces, the V8400 is defiantly light enough to hold all day without burning the biceps.
When using the V8400 the case makes it a perfect companion for any beach, diving, or rafting adventure and keeps the camera safe from sand and rain. It features internal memory and is powered by standard AA batteries.
Water resistant up to 30 feet and supports an external SD memory card for added storage. I took over 1500 pictures throughout my vacation and have no complaints; even recorded some video while I was down under with unbelievable clarity and ease.
Overall the camera was a great purchase, and a great value. It is extremely durable, rugged, and easy to use. It’s an extremely compact camera and compared to other compact digital cameras on the market, reasonably priced.
