If you’re planning to purchase a TV for a small bedroom, a study, or to use as a computer monitor in any area that its main purpose will not be for serious television or movie watching, then the Vizio VA220E 22-inch 1080i HDTV it’s a good flat screen TV to consider. The price is reasonable and the wide screen display is large enough to view from within an 8 foot distance.
For under $300, the Vizio VA220E HDTV should not be though of as a high quality replacement flat screen TV for a large living room. Also remember that 720p is not full high definition but is significantly better than standard definition (which is 525 lines). The Vizio VA220E HDTV does support 1080i but it doesn’t mean that what your seeing is 1080i, it means that if you have HD television service or an up-scaling DVD or Blu-Ray player it will support 1080i.
Pros:
• Great sound quality for a display of its size with its SRS TruSurround XT audio enhancement which gives surprising low frequency clarity.
• 2- HDMI inputs for better picture/audio clarity and less cables.
• Part of the EcoHD series so its very energy efficient.
• VGA input.
• Supports progressive scan.
Cons:
• Does not actually give you 1080 resolution but supports it. (Although on a display of this size the 720 resolution it does give you is very crisp)
• Only 1 input for Component YPbPr.

Consumer Reports top rated this TV and they were right! The picture is terrific and the set is easy to use. Forget the virtually invisible controls on the front of the set, but the remote is great with easy to use on screen menu. And the initial set-up was easy; no help is needed.
The Amazon price ($1325) was very close to the lowest available, the shipping was free, and dealing with Amazon was great as usual. I could not be more pleased with both the product and with the Amazon experience.
